Erin Go Bragh! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Anniversary to the Cakepopmama and Erin Go Bragh! Today marks my 3-Year Anniversary that my first cake pop samples rolled out and started making people's tummies say "Yumm!" This entry is dedicated to the all the wonderful people who have supported my cake popping journey- most especially, my husband and children! They are the first ones to get the samples when something new rolls out and they seem to still enjoy them like it was the first time!

All of these treats have been rolled by hand, individually decorated. Pictured are Red Velvet (lime green with white signature swirl), Cherry Chip (green with gold sprinkles), and Carrot Cake (white with green sprinkles). Each cake pop is then individually wrapped. Today's order was for a friend of a friend's birthday. Just one dozen....SO....what do I do with all these other leftovers??

You guessed it! If you are reading this blog, you can text me at 702-469-2776 and ONLY if you are local, I will find a way to get you a FREE SAMPLE! Yes, I said it. The best things in life are FREE! Last year was a bit crazy busy for me, but this year I have a little time to create some cake pop samples on this anniversary date. I'll be giving out samples all week! Go Green! Erin Go Bragh! Cheers! And have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Cherry Chip Cake Pops for a Milestone B-Day

In celebration of a good friend's birthday, I surprised her with some Cherry Chip Cake Pops. She deserved it! It was a 50th Birthday Celebration so I wanted to create something classy and yummy. Her favorite color is red and Wilton's now makes a "Bright White" candy melt along with other flavors, including Dark Chocolate Raspberry and Red Velvet. The feedback has been great and I appreciate everyone's continued support. (BTW, she loved them and there were extra for the fam bam!) Stay tuned for INFUSION!

Tres Leches Cake Pops...my process

Well helloooooo cake pop fans! I have taken a small hiatus from my cake popping. BUT, you'll be hearing more from me in the weeks and months to come. This week I received an order for Tres Leches Cake Pops using army green and black as my dipping/decorating colors. I think they turned out great! I have done Tres Leches Cake Pops before for my daughter's baptism 3 years ago. I used a lavender candy melt and sugar crystals mixed with white pearlized jimmies as sprinkles. Good feedback then! Hopefully better feedback this time around!

Duncan Hines makes a Tres Leches flavored cake mix. Yes, I use the boxed cake mixes. Inside the box is the cake mix and a separate tres leches pouch that you simply mix with milk. For this recipe (that yielded about 44 cake pops), I baked two cakes. Instead of using frosting, I mixed just one tres leches pouch with only 2 cups of milk. I poked holes in one cake as directed on the box, and poured this mix over the cake to chill overnight. For my cake pop mixture, I used the chilled cake and the 2nd cake together. Talk about stickyness BUT the flavor is yummy! I always chill my "dough" before rolling out. The cake balls remained moist and so before dipping, I did have to freeze the balls. Otherwise, we'd have a droopy sticky mess! Freezing them only for about 1 hour made them firm enough for dipping. For the army green color, I used the green Wilton's candy melts together with several drops of black candy melts until I felt the color was right. Yes, Wilton makes black candy melts.

The final picture shows one of the cake pops cut to see the inside. It is a yellow cake based cake, but surely is sweeter and moist the way a Tres Leches cake should be. It still does not mimic the traditional Tres Leches cake experience, but why not give it a try Tres Leches lovers?

There's A Party in My Tummy...Yo Gabba Gabba!!

What a fun time it was to do these fabulous cake pops for a relative in SoCal!! AND...it was also a test to see how shipping would go from Las Vegas to San Diego. It looks like all went well and the little 2 Year Old enjoyed her cake pops, especially Brobee!! (Although, he was missing the unibrow...it's okay!) I am only responsible for making and sending the cake pops. My cousin did a remarkably fabulous job displaying them all! Happy Birthday little neice! Fun times! Yummy times!

Como El Cielo

Truth be told, I didn't have enough blue candy melts for a Baby Shower order I was supposed to do. Usually I can get away with mixing a few white candy melts together with some blues. But then the quantity was still not enough. SO...I added a few purple and...what, before my eyes was created??

Como El Cielo...Like the Sky. A beautiful periwinkle candy melt covered in a sapphire sprinkle. Oh, they turned out so nice! So, happy Baby Shower to one lovely lady at the school where my children attend. Glad I could create these, in vanilla flavor, for you! Good luck to you! Mucha suerte!

Happy Birthday Treats for a Young Lady

These treats come direct to a young lady I've known for a few years. She just finished high school and has all the makings of a whatever she wants to be as she enters the post high school world. I was happy to create some custom cake pops for her. I did have to special order teal colored sprinkles to match the color motif of her celebration. My pleasure to do it for her! Happy 18th Birthday, Mocha and Congratulations on graduating from high school. You have the world at your fingertips!

Happy Poppin' Holidays!

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. This is also the time of year when people tend to let themselves indulge in life's wonderful delights. For example...CAKE POPS!! C'mon, just a couple of bites! Here are pics of the holiday sprinkled pops that are super yummy!

The most popular flavors seem to be Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry and Red Velvet. The Yellow Cake dipped in Chocolate with gold sprinkles...I call Golden Gate, is also a yummy one. Ah heck...they ALL taste great! Other flavors I have created (to remind you) include White Cake, Banana, Pumpkin, Lemon, and Chocolate Mocha. Let me know your pleasure! You'll have a nice holiday celebration with these unique treats on your Christmas table!
