Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something PINK

It is so nice to be in contact with a friend from over 25 years ago! Thanks to Facebook, things like that are possible. We were chatting via private messaging, and she was asking about Las Vegas local vendors she needed. I said..."Hmm...if you are interested in cake pops let me know!" And there ya go! I was so happy to do these for a friend of long ago!

She decided on Red Velvet and White Cake Pops. This was the first order I have ever done with the cake pops standing up. She didn't want them individually wrapped as she would be displaying them on a nice platter for a Bridal Shower celebration. The bright pink designates the Red Velvet and light pink are White Cake Pops. Now I just have to hide these from the kids because the White Cake Pops are super delish!

I love to create this Signature Swirl of mine. This is still the most fun I have decorating the cake pops- my signuture swirl! No two swirls are alike! Even during my busy times, cake popping is fun and therapeutic! Thanks for peeking in!

Thirteen: The Magic Teenager Number!

Oh the teenage years as they approach! These fun cake pops were created for a friend's son who just turned the ripe young age of 13....an official teenager!  The colors of these cake pops were selected to match the hostess' party bag selection (which I do not have a picture of), but I was told Pink & Orange and Green, with Blue & Red. So, voila! C'est magnifique!

I did my best with what I had. Wilton's makes a Royal Blue and a Light Blue Candy Melt and the Royal Blues worked perfectly here. I like to use the sugar crystals when I can, too, because they add a little crunch to the cake pop which provides a nice texture upon biting! But I also love to do little designs like the ones shown above. For the different designs, I use a squeeze bottle that Wilton's makes. I simply place the candy melts in the squeeze bottle and let the bottle sit in a coffee mug of hot water- sort of double boiler style. I'll video share that with you one day!

This was a fun project. The cake pops pictured here are Red Velvet and Carrot Cake Pops. I wrap my cake pops individually in a 4 x 5 inch cello bag, and use twisty ties to close them up. Many times I use twisty ties to identify flavors. For these ones, I used red twisty ties for Red Velvet and gold twisty ties for Carrot Cake. Thanks for checking out my blog!

Como El Cielo

Truth be told, I didn't have enough blue candy melts for a Baby Shower order I was supposed to do. Usually I can get away with mixing a few white candy melts together with some blues. But then the quantity was still not enough. SO...I added a few purple and...what, before my eyes was created??

Como El Cielo...Like the Sky. A beautiful periwinkle candy melt covered in a sapphire sprinkle. Oh, they turned out so nice! So, happy Baby Shower to one lovely lady at the school where my children attend. Glad I could create these, in vanilla flavor, for you! Good luck to you! Mucha suerte!
